Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Home Affairs learned about the IREKS value-added chain

What can a safe value-added chain in the food sector look like today? Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Home Affairs Alois Rainer MdB experienced this on Sunday, 7 December 2025 during his visit to our headquarters in Kulmbach. During a company tour, the Minister was given an insight into how we prioritise food quality from seed to finished product.

He was accompanied by Emmi Zeulner MdB, Johannes Winkel MdB (Federal Chairman of the Junge Union), Martin Schöffel MdL (State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs) and Jonas Bickschlag (Federal Managing Director of the Junge Union). Managing Partner Hans Albert Ruckdeschel and Managing Director Stefan Soiné gave the guests an insight behind the scenes: from the cooperation with regional contract farmers and our systems for processing and refining grain to the production of high-quality baking ingredients, sourdoughs and malts.

In particular, our investments in research and analytics were of great interest. The IREKS IQ Centre with its own sensory panel, research bakeries and a laboratory for ultra-trace analysis unique in the industry, is emblematic of the high IREKS quality standards.

“It is important for us to comprehensively check the raw materials we use and to keep processes under our own control as far as possible – this creates reliability for our customers worldwide and enables us to guarantee the highest quality on a permanent basis,“ explained Stefan Soiné.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to clearly communicate our understanding of partnership, quality and sustainability – and to show how responsibility can be practised along the entire value-added chain.
