Kulmbach University Campus meets IREKS

To intensify the cooperation and discuss possible future projects, a team of professors from the faculty of Life Sciences of the Kulmbach Campus took a look behind the scenes of IREKS.

How can the Kulmbach location be strengthened and advanced as a centre of excellence for food? By combining science and practice! That is why IREKS has been committed to the realisation of the  Bayreuth University Campus for Life Sciences in Kulmbach from the very beginning. In the meantime, the chairs at the faculty VII “Life Sciences: Food, Nutrition and Health” are occupied by 12 professors who research and teach in Kulmbach, already instructing about 200 students in their disciplines after only a few terms. To promote the exchange between the University of Bayreuth and IREKS as well as to find new starting points for cooperation, professors of the faculty VII visited IREKS.

The guests were welcomed by our Managing Partner Hans Albert Ruckdeschel, Managing Directors Stefan Soiné, Dr Mathias Warwel and Dr Sabine Krätzschmar as well as Dr Thomas Kunte, Director of Research & Development at IREKS GmbH. During a company tour through our baking ingredients production, the malthouse and the new IREKS Technical Centre, they had the chance to look behind the scenes of IREKS. Subsequently, various topics in the field of food research and potential joint projects were discussed intensively. We are excited about what the future holds!
