Sustainable energy: new photovoltaic systems in Hungary and Croatia

We are expanding our capacities in the field of renewable energies with the commissioning of two solar plants at our subsidiaries.

At the end of 2024, a solar plant with 177 modules and a nominal output of 93.81 kWp was installed on the lawn next to the warehouse of our Hungarian subsidiary IREKS-STAMAG Kft. at the Komárom site. The official handover took place on 15 January 2025. Thanks to this investment, around a third of the annual electricity consumption there can be covered by renewable sources.

Furthermore, our Croatian subsidiary IREKS AROMA d.o.o. commissioned a new solar plant at the Jastrebarsko site in June 2025. The 524 modules have an output of 278 kWp and cover an area of around 1,700 square metres on the roof of the newly constructed warehouse, which is roughly the size of four basketball courts. The electricity generated is primarily used to cover the production and warehouse’s own requirements. In this way, energy costs can be reduced and security of supply increased. Surplus energy that is not used directly in the business is fed into the public grid and thus makes an additional contribution to the sustainable, regional energy supply.  The planned annual production amounts to over 300,000 kWh, which could supply around 80 to 90 average German households with electricity per year.
