As winners of the trainee award 2025, our trainees have put the prize money associated with the award to good use for a worthy cause in the region: Support for local social institutions.
Our trainees were delighted to win the 2025 Trainee Award – and equally motivated to use the prize money for a good cause. This idea was rewarded by the IREKS management by doubling the prize money. As part of a campaign, donations in kind were handed over to social institutions in Kulmbach. The Geschwister Gummi foundation and the Rehbergheim (Mathilde Trendel foundation) are the recipients.

The Rehbergheim received a Mathmos Space projector and a Sony jukebox to promote relaxation and well-being and to organise joint leisure activities. They were handed over on 25 February 2026.
IREKS donated ten beanbags to the Geschwister Gummi foundation, which will serve as cosy retreats for children to relax, read or spend time together. The donations in kind were handed over on 17 February 2026. The next campaign is already being planned: As in previous years, we will surprise the children of the Geschwister Gummi foundation with self-made Easter wreaths and sweets this Easter. This is how our trainees are continuing the commitment of recent years to the Geschwister Gummi foundation.
At the end of 2025, IREKS was awarded first place in the Kulmbach Trainee Award. Under the motto ‘Connecting generations – securing the future’, our trainees impressed the jury with their specially developed ‘Generation Cookie’. The change of perspective and transfer of knowledge between the generations was brought to life in a humorous way via the main idea of ‘Let's swap roles’.
The symbolic ‘generational cookie’ represents the recipe for success in training at IREKS: A balanced blend of tradition and innovation, appreciation and team spirit. Around 70 trainees benefit from this intergenerational cooperation, which makes training sustainable for the future.
The award ceremony took place on Friday, 17 October 2025, as part of the Kulmbach Career Fair. The trainee award was organised by Netzwerk SchuleWirtschaft Kulmbach in cooperation with the Bayerische Rundschau newspaper. The aim of the award is to raise the profile of companies in the region that are particularly committed to training young people and actively promoting the transfer of knowledge between generations.
