Training With Responsibility at IREKS: Trainees Bake for a Good Cause

The annual Easter baking event organised by the IREKS trainees is not just about baking: It’s an example of the practical and varied training offered by IREKS. With a great deal of commitment and creativity, the trainees produce Easter baked goods, which are then donated to children and young people of the “Geschwister Gummi” foundation.

Under the expert guidance of the IREKS Baking Academy team, more than 70 pieces of baked goods came together, each carefully garnished and showcased in an Easter setting. The trainees were delighted to hand over their baked goods to the “Geschwister Gummi” foundation, represented by Maike Grob and Leonard von der Weth, on Maundy Thursday. The foundation in Kulmbach supports and promotes children and young people in difficult life situations. They gratefully accepted the donation on behalf of the children and adolescents who live in residential groups and are aged between 1 and 18.

The Easter baking event reflects the values that are taught during training at IREKS: responsibility, team spirit and commitment. This is just one of many activities that enrich the training programme at IREKS: there are onboarding days right at the beginning, a barbecue evening with the owner's family and the trainee instructors, and joint adventure days at the “Weihermühle” youth centre.

As one of the largest training companies in the region, IREKS offers 15 different types of apprenticeships, including baker (all genders), chemical laboratory technician (all genders), food technician (all genders) and miller (all genders).

Right from the start, the trainees are actively involved in the company and integrated into projects. They familiarise themselves with the IREKS value-added chain and gain an understanding of how a large company works. They receive targeted support and optimum preparation for their exams through in-house instruction and personal mentoring. The trainees gain an insight into various areas, improve their professional and personal skills, and have an excellent chance of being offered a permanent position upon completion of their training. Training at IREKS is particularly attractive because it takes place in a modern family business that places great value on personal and respectful cooperation.
