In connection with a visit by Minister of State Thorsten Glauber, IREKS extended its membership in the Bavarian State Government’s environmental initiative until 2026.
Since 2007, we have been participating in the environmental initiative, with which the Bavarian state government promotes active corporate environmental protection that goes beyond the legal requirements. Due to the importance of this topic for our company and the associated commitment, our membership has now been extended until 2026.
Stefan Soiné, Dr Mathias Warwel and Dr Sabine Krätzschmar, members of the IREKS Management Board, as well as IREKS Energy Management Officers Andreas Klumpp and Katharina Hasemann were delighted to receive the certificate in person from the Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber. Rainer Ludwig, Member of the Bavarian Parliament, and District Administrator Klaus Peter Söllner also emphasized the commitment of IREKS to the environment with their personal appearance and words of greeting.
Stefan Soiné emphasized the importance of energy management at IREKS. IREKS has been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 energy management since 2012. We have also set ourselves the target of increasing energy efficiency by 15 % in 15 years (2010 to 2024). At IREKS, energy management begins with the optimisation of processes and systems and extends to the use of our own combined heat and power plants and the involvement of all employees. During his visit, Minister of State Thorsten Glauber honoured our ongoing commitment and emphasized the importance of companies that take responsibility for their region and the environment. Rainer Ludwig and Klaus Peter Söllner emphasized the good cooperation and the beacon character that IREKS has for the district of Kulmbach.
